Meet Captain Jennebah Koomson
Jennebah Koomson is 14 years old and Captain of Hippo FC. In the 2025 to 2026 Margibi County Women Lower League, she was named League MVP and won the Golden Boot.
She scored 4 hat tricks and added 2 assists during the season. As Captain, she led Hippo FC to a record of 9 games played, 8 wins, 1 draw, 0 defeats, 28 goals scored, and 2 goals conceded.
Lonestar National Team
Jennebah represents Liberia as a U-15 player for the Lonestar National Team. She trains with the country’s top young talent while captaining Hippo FC in Margibi County.
Football for Conservation
Every goal Captain Jennebah scores supports our Four Birth Trees program. From 2026 to 2028, Hippo FC plants 100 trees for every goal. Her hat tricks mean hundreds of new trees for Liberia’s forests.
Through Hippo Watch, she leads environmental STEM sessions and teaches other students about the endangered Pygmy Hippo, clean water, and forest protection.
From the Coaches
Head Coach Elijah Fayiah:
Jennebah leads as Captain on and off the pitch. She sets the standard in training, lifts her teammates, and stays committed to school. She shows what Hippo FC stands for.
Assistant Coach Wilson Farley:
Her leadership matches her talent. The team follows her example of discipline, respect, and service to community.
Captain’s Quote
As Captain, I want to help my team win and help my country. I love scoring goals because every goal plants 100 trees for Liberia. I want to play for the senior Lonestar team and protect our forest.
Jennebah Koomson, Age 14, Hippo FC Captain
What’s Next
Captain Jennebah will lead Hippo FC into preseason training in January 2026. She will continue with the U-15 Lonestar National Team and direct Hippo Watch school visits.
Follow her journey as she leads Hippo FC to more goals and more trees.
